I will start with a record that was created by four great musicians that happens to be among my favorites and is named SILENCE.
SILENCE features bassist Charlie Haden joined by Chet Baker, drummer Billy Higgins, and pianist Enrico Pieranunzi. It was recorded just six months before Baker's death.
it was recorder at CMC studios in Rome on the 11 and 12 of November 1987 as a vinyl record by the Italian company SOUL NOTE.
The album on the first side contains 2 original compositions (Slinence and Echi) the first signed by Haden and the other by Pieranunzi) and one composition by Charlie Parker (Visa).
The second side contains two "standards" ("My Funny Valentine" and "Round About Midnight") and a composition by George Shearing (Conception).
Maybe not the most IMPORTANT work of Haden but a true work of taste. For me silence is the highlight piece of the album.
PS. the cover art by Daniel L Johnson is a work of art
